San Jose homicide: Woman’s body found in East Foothills home

SouthSAN JOSE — A woman was found dead in a home in San Jose’s east foothills on Tuesday, a victim of homicide, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives worked into the night, interviewing neighbors along Mountain View Avenue and asking for home security camera footage, to try to determine what happened, Sgt. Michael Low said Tuesday evening.

The victim’s name and age are being withheld until relatives can be notified, he said.

Police received a call at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday, “a possible dead body inside a residence,” Low said. “Based on our preliminary investigation, we are declaring this a homicide.”

Low said it was too soon to determine time or manner of death and he declined to say where the woman was found or whether there were signs of a struggle.

The home on Mountain View Avenue is close to Gordon Avenue, he said. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office Investigations main line at 408-808-4500 or call the anonymous tip line at 408-808-4431.
