In the other match, Daniil Dubov was shut down by Hikaru Nakamura with a 3-0 win. The Magnus Carlsen tour began in April. The inaugural event witnessed Carlsen winning after defeating Hikaru Nakamura. During the Abbey Rapid challenge, Carlson was knocked out by Nakamura. Things are back to the start as Carlson and Nakamura will be going against each other playing Best of 7 for the finals. Carlson also won the Legends of Chess event and still beat Ding but Nakamura did not participate in the event. It is also considered to be an important factor here as Nakamura had an extra rest day. This confrontation is much awaited and the showdown is highly anticipated.

The pandemic has put a stop to most of the sports activities and questions were asked whether chess candidates should be stopped as well. FIDE is the organization that is the governing body of international chess competition. They said that the game will continue.
