Virat Kohli, the ‘Number 18’, is an Indian cricketer. Kholi is the Captain of the Indian National Cricket team. He is considered as one of the best batsmen in the cricketing world. Virat is also known as Chikoo, which is his pet name kept by the team. Actually, this nickname was given to him by his Ranji Trophy coach. He is a right-handed batsman. The different thing about him is that he is not like Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who was the Captain of the Indian team before him. He is a very aggressive player and is well known for it. Moreover, Kohli was the Captain of the Under 19 team of India. He led them to win the Under 19 World Cup 2008.
On 18th August 2020, Virat Kohli completed 12 years playing for the National team since his international debut. On the day itself, BCCI’s Twitter handles shared a post stating “12 years of Virat Kohli,” congratulating him. To this, Virat Kohli even replied saying, “Time flies, Forever grateful.”

Exactly 12 years ago, Kohli played his first professional game for the Indian National cricket team. His debut match was an ODI game against Sri Lanka. He did not perform well in that match. He just scored 12 runs in 22 balls and got dismissed at the hands of Nuwan Kulasekara. India went on to lose that match, but even then, he kept getting chances to play for the team as he was considered to be the next big thing in Indian Cricket. After 14 games, he scored his first international century where he scored 109 runs against Sri Lanka itself.
He has a huge female fan following, not considering his game but the fact that he is very charming. In the Indian Premier League, he plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is the Captain of the team but has not been able to win the IPL trophy yet. He was a middle-class boy from New Delhi who dreamt of playing for team India one day like any other kid, and now with his successful career, he also got married in 2017 to Anushka Sharma, a Bollywood actress. The top right-handed performer has the best rating in Test cricket, ODI cricket, and even in Twenty20.
Until now, he has scored 43 ODI centuries for the team, and in test matches, he has scored a total of 7240 runs in just 86 matches. Talking about T20, he is at the top of the chart right now where he is getting chased by his very own teammate Rohit Sharma. Even after 12 years, he has not lost his form. We are sure that under his captaincy Team India will win many other trophies. We hope that he keeps playing his best game and keeps breaking records. Virat Kohli is a wonderful player and it is always a treat to the eyes to see him play.
