PSG fans lost their cool after club's defeat in UCL Finals
PSG fans caused riots after their club lost the UCL finals against Bayern Munich.

The 2019-20 football season has finally come to an end with Bayern Munich winning the UEFA Champions League for the 6th time and also winning their second treble. FC Barcelona was the only team earlier to have achieved this feat. Bayern defeated Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League finals by 1 goal. It was the only goal of the match that came from Kingsley Coman. It was the first time in PSG’s history that they made it to the finals. The fans wanted them to win and had a lot of hopes. PSG lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich after missing some easy chances that should have been converted.

After the final whistle, some PSG players just could not hold back their tears. Tears shed from the eyes of Neymar Jr., Leandro Paredes, and Angel Di Maria as they knew that they had let their fan’s hopes down. Bayern Munich on the other hand had just two attempts on target and managed to covert one of them. They totally deserved the win as they owned that match keeping great possession of the ball. It was a very sad night for the PSG fans.

PSG LOST – What happened that night?

On the night of the match, a huge number of Paris fans were outside their team’s stadium, Parc Des Princes chanting and supporting them. PSG also did a live screening of the match in the stadium with only 5000 spectators allowed inside. The crowd outside the stadium was huge with fans all over the street. Not only PSG fans but also Marseille fans were present over there, not to support the French giants but to see them lose. Marseille is the only French team that has managed to win the Champions League in 1993. They did not want Paris to win the finals and take away even that title from them.

The police came into action as the fans started burning vehicles and destroying stores.

After PSG lost the match, things got ugly outside Parc des Princes. Marseille fans started celebrating by lighting up firecrackers and chanting. This only increased the PSG fan’s frustration and they started losing their cool. Already, the huge crowd was neglecting the safety guidelines. On top of that, PSG fans started burning vehicles, destroying stores, and smashing windows. The police had to come into action and use tear gas on the fans. The fans even started clashing with the police. Police arrested approximately 148 people that night. Some policemen even got injured. Football is a sport that is aimed to unite people and maintain peace. No matter what the results are, every person should respect it and learn to accept their defeat. We hope that such an incident does not happen again and people start learning to respect the sport.
