SpongeBob is a show that is liked by many people, regardless of their ages. To make us happy, a new prequel for SpongeBob SquarePants titled Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years is releasing, and the first look of this show was recently released. In the first image released by Nickelodeon, we see Patrick, Spongebob, Squidward, Sandy, Plankton, and Mr. Krabs as younger selves of themselves. From the image, it is known that all these are enjoying themselves in a summer camp. The image kicks in the sense of nostalgia, and it would be exciting to know the story that the show has to tell about the characters when they were young.
Some details of the show have been released, and we can’t be more excited to know more. The prequel would be exploring the characters when they were young. SpongeBob is 10-years old in this part. We’ll see the characters enjoying their summer in the Kelp Forest, where they have gone on a camping tour.
There they will explore a lot of things like catching jellyfish, starting underwater campfires, and they will also be seen swimming in Lake Yuckymuck. This younger version will also introduce two new characters Nobby and Narlene. They will be playing the Narwhal siblings who live in and around the Kelp Forest and meet the characters in the camp.
There is an addition of Carlos Alazraqui, known for The Casagrande’s and Kate Higgins, known for Blaze and the Monster Machines, for voicing the new characters Nobby and Narlene introduced in the show. Apart from that, we will see the original cast reprising their roles and voicing our favorite characters. It will be interesting to see and know if the voices and speech will vary accordingly or not. Tom Kenny will be voicing SpongeBob as usual. Apart from that, Bill Fagerbakke will be doing Patrick, Podger Bumpass will be doing Squidward, Carolyn Lawrence would be doing Sandy, Mr. Lawrence would be doing Plankton, and Clancy Brown would be doing Mr. Krabs. The spin-off series is being produced by Marc Ceccarelli, Vincent Waller, and Jennie Monica, and the production is being carefully overseen by Kelly Gardner.
The show will release next year, that is, 2021. It will be first released on the newly rebranded Paramount Plus and then will be released on Nickelodeon further down the year. The series would have a total of 13 episodes, and we wish there were more of it! The original series and version of SpongeBob was first released in 1999 and was created by Stephen Hillenburg. It was a hit then and one of the best shows on Nickelodeon. All the people who want to feel nostalgic can wait for 2021 to watch the series.
