Well, you guys Locke and Key season 2 is now official. Yes, it has been greenlit by Netflix, the streaming giant. In this brand new show which dropped on the platform just this year, we surely witness some new content. The audience can acknowledge three siblings who move into a house with a lot of magic. This place even has a variety of secrets hidden inside of it. The first season of the show was made up of 10 episodes. They all released together on Netflix on the 7th of February 2020. Well, we have seen how it is such a long road to get a show for this tale.
I mean, the showrunners have revealed how long they have been waiting to make a show out of this story. They commented on the fact that Locke and Key were first getting prepared for Fox. But then it shifted itself to Hulu who were the ones to shoot their pilot episode. All this while, the reception of Locke and Key season 1 was pretty great. Although, there were so many critics who said that the show feels a bit too similar. Well, the had its own set of positive reviews with people saying that it even has the potential to be the next Goosebumps.
Locke and Key season 2 ― Renewal Status?
Well, on the 30th of March 2020, it was confirmed by Netflix that Locke and Key are set to come back for a new season. Well, according to the renewal, we might see more of the diverse keys that are getting collected in the house. We might even see a lot of other demons and well, more aloha maybe. All this while, it was revealed that the second installment was in a state of production just after the first one debuted on Netflix. Once again, the process of filming was taking place in Toronto, Canada. Meredith Averill as well as Carlton Cuse spoke to the news media about their potential plans for Locke and Key season 2. They once even went on to reveal how they are writing a new season even though it has not been greenlit yet.
Locke and Key season 2 ― What is the story?
All this while, people who have already binge-watched the first installment of the series are well aware of the fact that it instantly works up for a sequel. Back in the previous installment, we saw how the series concluded with all the siblings entering the most dangerous door till now. It all finishes off with the three Locke siblings being the keeper of all of the keys. But despite all of their efforts, evil is still lurking in the show.
We saw how Dodge seemingly got away with giving the appearance that she died in the final battle of season 1. We see how the omega key is very safe but the crown is still missing. Well, we are also expecting that the series will continue to stick to its main comics as the source of its main story arc. Although, creators have hinted that the story might diverge a bit on its plot.
