São Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo is nearing a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain for €20 million, sources have informed ESPN.
The 20-year-old is set to join PSG when the transfer window opens in January, bolstering coach Luis Enrique’s defensive options for the second half of the season.
According to sources, the transfer agreement between the two clubs does not include bonuses and will be finalized once Beraldo passes a medical examination. Beraldo has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Brazil under-20 international will join a PSG side currently leading Ligue 1 and aiming for a third consecutive league title. Additionally, the French club is in the Champions League round of 16, where they are set to face Real Sociedad.
Beraldo’s arrival is part of a significant overhaul at PSG, following the summer acquisitions of Randal Kolo Muani, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé, Goncalo Ramos, and Lucas Hernández.
Meanwhile, high-profile departures included Lionel Messi, Neymar, Sergio Ramos, and Mauro Icardi ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
