Last night’s episode of SmackDown (Dec. 8) revealed a concerning moment for Charlotte Flair, who noticeably favored her right leg during her Tribute to the Troops match against Asuka.
Post-match, WrestlingNews.co’s Steve Fall captured footage of Flair informing referee Charles Robinson that it was her knee that was bothering her.
Following this, Robinson and a trainer assisted Flair off the ring and escorted her backstage.
Reports have since surfaced detailing the incident. According to PWInsider, the injury occurred off-camera when Charlotte and Asuka were preparing for a sequence during a commercial break.

It’s reported that “Flair slipped and got caught on the ropes, wrenching her knee and striking her head” in the process.
The fall itself wasn’t broadcast, and commentators Michael Cole and JBL explained Flair’s absence from the action by stating that Asuka had managed to incapacitate her after both competitors were down following the commercial break.
Insider sources also indicated that WWE’s medical team immediately assessed Charlotte backstage, causing understandable concern among her peers regarding the severity of her knee injury.
The critical factor now lies in the results of these medical evaluations. Until those are disclosed, the duration of Flair’s potential absence from WWE programming remains uncertain.
