Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday and discussed how she learned about former President Donald Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts related to hush money payments.

When asked by Kimmel if the people she watched the verdict with seemed “pretending to not be happy,” Harris avoided the lighthearted question. Instead, she mentioned the six-week deliberations and the 12-person jury, emphasizing that “cheaters don’t like getting caught.”

Trump, expected to be the Republican presidential nominee, was convicted for his role in a scheme to pay off porn actress Stormy Daniels during his 2016 campaign. He criticized the verdict as politically motivated and suggested it could affect his supporters similarly.

Harris’ remarks came a day after President Joe Biden criticized Trump for undermining faith in the judicial process. Biden called such actions reckless, dangerous, and irresponsible during a Greenwich, Connecticut fundraiser on Monday night.
