A man shot and killed five people and critically injured a 13-year-old girl at apartments near Las Vegas. Authorities confirmed on Tuesday that the suspected shooter, 47-year-old Eric Adams, took his own life when confronted by officers in a neighborhood on Tuesday morning. Police had been searching for Adams since the shootings occurred late Monday night in different apartment units.
Attempts to reach Adams’ family for comment were not immediately successful.
Initially, police responded to reports of a shooting and found two women dead in one apartment in North Las Vegas. One woman was in her early 40s, and the other was in her late 50s, according to police.

During their investigation, officers learned that a teenage girl had been critically wounded and taken to a hospital. They also discovered additional victims in a nearby apartment: two women in their mid-20s and a man in his early 20s. All five victims had been shot, but their identities were not immediately released.
Following the discovery, authorities launched an overnight search for Adams, describing him as “armed and dangerous.”
Around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, police received information that Adams had been spotted at a business in North Las Vegas. When officers arrived, they saw Adams with a firearm, fleeing into the backyard of a nearby home. Officers pursued him, but Adams refused to surrender and died by suicide.
