WWE has a history of revisiting popular stables and gimmicks to generate buzz and create new storylines. One notable example is the re-emergence of the Latino World Order (LWO) stable, which was revived just before WrestleMania 39. The group, made up of Rey Mysterio and Legado Del Fantasma, has been paying homage to the original creator of the group, Eddie Guerrero, by using his iconic entrance theme, “Viva La Raza”. Santos Escobar, a member of Legado Del Fantasma, recently spoke with Steve Fall on Ten Count about the significance of using Guerrero’s theme song.

According to Escobar, Rey Mysterio and himself wanted to find a way to honor Guerrero’s legacy, and using “Viva La Raza” was a key part of that. He explained, “Rey and I thought that it was very important to have something that pay homage to the original creator of the group, which was Eddie [Guerrero]. And anything short than wearing his gears in the ring, the Viva La Raza was probably the most iconic phrase, at least to our people.” The use of Guerrero’s entrance theme has been a vital part of the group’s identity, evoking nostalgia and respect for the late wrestler.

The LWO’s revival was not without its challenges, as Triple H initially rejected the idea of bringing back the group. However, the faction has now found a new lease on life, with fans warming up to the stable’s charismatic babyface personas. The group’s continued success has even led to rumors of Konnan, a founding member of the original LWO, potentially rejoining the faction in the future.

The re-emergence of the LWO serves as a testament to the power of nostalgia and the impact that former wrestlers like Eddie Guerrero can continue to have on the company. The stable’s continued popularity is a reminder that WWE’s past is always relevant, and that it can be leveraged to create new and exciting storylines. As the company continues to navigate the ever-changing terrain of professional wrestling, the LWO’s revival offers a Look into the future of WWE’s ability to create memorable and bankable franchises.
