Ric Flair: The Wrestling Icon Turns Entrepreneurial Ventures

Ric Flair

Ric Flair, a two-time WWE Hall of Famer and one of the biggest names in professional wrestling, has built an impressive career marked by his charismatic persona, signature moves, and numerous accolades. His entrepreneurial spirit has also led him to create his own energy drink line, which has surprisingly seen more success than some of his contemporaries. Known for his shrewd business sense, Flair has diversified his brand and leveraged his brand recognition to explore new ventures.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Flair revealed his doubts about returning to WWE, citing the company’s enforceable contract. According to Flair, the contract would prevent him from pursuing other entrepreneurial ventures, such as his energy drink line, unless he agreed to share half of the profits with WWE. This clause, Flair expressed, would impede his ability to explore other opportunities, stating, “I wouldn’t be able to do the marijuana. I certainly wouldn’t be able to have the energy drink unless I gave them 50% of it or something like that.”

Flair acknowledged the fairness of WWE’s stance, as they would be offering him TV time and helping him build his star quality. However, he felt that this clause was limiting and restrictive, stating, “I mean, you know, and in all fairness, I don’t like that, but I can understand. They’re gonna give you the TV time and help give you the opportunity for yourself to become a star, if you have that star quality, then they deserve to get a part of the money.”

Flair’s comments suggest that he may not return to WWE anytime soon, as he would need to negotiate a more favorable contract. While fans may miss seeing him on WWE television, they have come to accept that Flair’s future involvement with the company is unlikely. As Flair explores other opportunities, his legacy as a wrestling icon and entrepreneur will undoubtedly continue to endure. Flair’s focus on his entrepreneurial ventures, including his energy drink line, will likely bring him continued success and recognition in the years to come.

As Flair’s nameplate says, he is “The Nature Boy,” a moniker that reflects his innate charm, charisma, and entrepreneurial spirit. With a career spanning decades, Flair has cemented his place as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. His return to WWE, or lack thereof, is of little concern, as his legacy and entrepreneurial pursuits will continue to entertain and inspire fans.
