Ariane Andrew, better known by her ring name Cameron, has still got stories to tell from her time as a WWE Superstar. In a recent conversation on The Bellas Podcast, Cameron opened up about her heated confrontation with Naomi on the first season of Total Divas. The argument began after a go-karting match on the August 25th, 2013, episode of the E! reality show, where Cameron emerged as the winner. However, Naomi was less than thrilled about Cameron’s victory, and the tension escalated quickly.
According to Cameron, producers were constantly in her ear, trying to stir up trouble with her friend. She confirmed that the dispute was real, revealing that at one point, she told Naomi she was done with their friendship, saying “I was like, ‘We’re not friends anymore.’ I was like, ‘I’m not friends with you.’ I was like, ‘I’m done. You’re good.'” The argument concluded with The Funkadactyls pushing each other in front of a crowd of onlookers at the go-kart track.
The scene, which was part of the episode titled “Feuding Funkadactyls,” was filmed before WWE’s Total Divas series was taken over by the E! network. Cameron confessed that she was so upset during the confrontation that she started crying, consumed by anger and frustration. She worried at the time that she might have lost Naomi’s friendship over a petty argument that was unlikely to air on the show.
Despite the tumultuous past, Naomi and Cameron reunited backstage at the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match. Naomi took to Twitter after the event to reaffirm their friendship, stating that they are always there for each other. Both Naomi and Cameron are currently gone from WWE, with Naomi still under contract but not seen since walking out in May 2022. However, a potential reunion at the upcoming Royal Rumble on January 28th remains a possibility.
