Lexis King Explains His Fresh Look Referencing the Dark Knight

Lexis King holds a rather elevated view of himself, making a grand entrance on a throne and inserting himself into the personal conflict between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes.

It’s unsurprising, then, that like many villains, King considers himself a misunderstood anti-hero.

Recently on X, King was questioned about a selfie that displayed a new design cut into his dark brown facial hair, reminiscent of the bottom of the crest on Batman’s chest. In response, King wrote, “Because I am the hero NXT deserves, but not the one it needs right now.”

This quote is from the conclusion of Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight,” the second film in Nolan’s trilogy about the DC Comics character.

The movie has had a significant impact on professional wrestling since its release in 2008, particularly Heath Ledger’s portrayal of The Joker.

This portrayal has inspired wrestlers like Rey Mysterio and even Braun Strowman, who experimented with a character based on Ledger’s performance last year.

Currently, King is one of the main antagonists on “WWE NXT.” Last night’s show suggested he might have been responsible for the sneak attack on Williams.

However, if his social media post is to be believed, he’s portraying himself as a wronged hero framed for a crime he didn’t commit, much like Batman at the end of “The Dark Knight.”

King made his debut at “NXT” Halloween Havoc after spending years on the independent scene and in AEW under his real name, Brian Pillman Jr.
