CM Punk’s name continues to circulate in the rumor mill, with some betting odds listing him as a contender for a potential return to WWE at Survivor Series. However, numerous credible outlets have reported that there are no talks between the Second City Savior and WWE, sparking a debate about the feasibility of a CM Punk return. WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis recently addressed the issue, issuing a statement regarding his interview comments that were taken out of context and went viral on social media.

Aldis appeared on the BBC Radio Norfolk show, where he discussed the possibility of CM Punk making a return to WWE. He stated that it could be a mutually beneficial business move, which sparked a frenzy among fans and led to over 896,000 views on social media. However, Aldis took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the situation, pointing out that his comments were edited out of context and urging journalists to “be better.”

WWE’s mindset about CM Punk’s return isn’t likely to change, despite fan chants at WWE events. CM Punk chants were heard during WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia and Shinsuke Nakamura vs Akira Tozawa’s match on RAW, but WWE realizes that fans are chanting for him. This doesn’t mean WWE is any closer to inking a new deal with CM Punk. The situation is far from certain, making it unclear when, or if, CM Punk will return to WWE.

Aldis’s clarification on his statements likely indicates that he realizes a CM Punk return isn’t imminent. He handled the situation appropriately, dousing hopes that CM Punk will return to WWE at the end of the month. It remains to be seen if CM Punk ever makes a return to WWE, but fans shouldn’t be holding their breath for it to happen anytime soon.

The debate around CM Punk’s potential return to WWE continues, with fans eager to see what the future holds. What are your thoughts on CM Punk making a return to WWE? Share your opinions in the comments section.
