WWE’s Underrated Talents Forgotten in the Shuffle

WWE NXT (Via WWE/Twitter)

WWE has a vast array of talented Superstars on its roster, but unfortunately, not all of them can be showcased on television at the same time. As a result, two rising stars, Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, have fallen by the wayside, collecting their downside guarantees while barely getting any screen time. Despite having immense potential and hype surrounding them, the duo has only participated in two battle royal matches this year, a stark contrast to their early-career momentum.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the simple reason for their limited usage is that WWE just doesn’t have a place for them in their current storylines. Both Garza and Carrillo are low on the pecking order, and despite being talented, they don’t fit into the company’s current narrative. This isn’t an unusual phenomenon, as WWE, like AEW, struggles to give everyone the spotlight. Some wrestlers simply get lost in the shuffle, and unfortunately, Garza and Carrillo are two such cases.

It’s worth noting that both AEW and WWE face similar issues with their rosters. Despite having a glut of talented wrestlers, it’s not possible for every Superstar to get equal television time. Hopefully, AEW’s new Collision show will be able to boost some of the unsung heroes, and maybe, just maybe, Garza and Carrillo will find their way back onto the radar.

As for why they haven’t been used more, it’s clear that Triple H, as the head of WWE’s creative team, has had opportunities to utilize them, but they haven’t yet fit into the company’s plans. Even the LWO, a faction rumored to be in the works, doesn’t seem to have an opening for them. It’s a shame, as both Garza and Carrillo possess undeniable talent, and with the right push, they could be major players in the WWE.
