A helicopter from the US military crashed near the southern border, leading to the sad deaths of two National Guard soldiers and a US Border Patrol agent. This happened during regular flying missions close to Rio Grande City, Texas. Another soldier got hurt. They’re still looking into why the crash happened.
The helicopter, called UH-72 Lakota, was supposed to help at the border when it crashed in a field, according to Starr County Judge Eloy Vera.
One person who was really hurt got taken to McAllen Medical Center in Texas. The county officials are waiting for federal authorities to start figuring out what went wrong.
