A man from Texas has been accused of threatening an FBI special agent involved in a probe related to Hunter Biden’s laptop, according to federal prosecutors on Thursday.
Timothy Muller allegedly made a call to the FBI agent shortly after Hunter Biden’s guilty verdict in a federal gun trial was announced by a jury in Delaware. The agent, based in Baltimore, reportedly hung up, but Muller called back and left a threatening voicemail that lasted over a minute, as per prosecutors.
In the voicemail, Muller allegedly warned the agent and his family, saying, “You can run, but you can’t hide.” He also mentioned former President Donald Trump winning reelection and implied consequences for FBI agents if another election was stolen.
Following the voicemail, Muller sent multiple text messages to the agent, asking about the safety of his family and making further threatening remarks.
The name of the special agent was not disclosed in the public release.
Muller, aged 43 and residing in Fort Worth, Texas, faces charges of interstate threatening communications and influencing, impeding, or retaliating against a federal official. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
