The wrestling community is still reeling from the shocking passing of Jay Briscoe, a legendary tag team wrestler known for his impressive in-ring abilities and willingness to put on a show for fans. Briscoe’s funeral recently took place, and it was attended by several notable figures from the wrestling world, including Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who flew directly from the Royal Rumble to pay their respects.

The incident that led to Briscoe’s passing was a tragic one, involving a truck accident that left Briscoe and the driver of the truck dead, while his two daughters, who were also in the vehicle, suffered major injuries and are currently undergoing extensive physical therapy. In the aftermath of the accident, a donation page was set up to help support the Pugh family, and it surprisingly exceeded its original goal of $50,000, raising a impressive $300,000 from fans who wanted to show their support.

Briscoe’s funeral service was also streamed live on YouTube, and several wrestling personalities have spoken about the emotional impact of his passing. According to Dave Meltzer, who spoke on Wrestling Observer Radio, the funeral was attended by many people who traveled from all over the country to pay their respects, including Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who flew in from San Antonio the day after the Royal Rumble. As Meltzer pointed out, the Rumble ended at 12:20 AM Eastern time, and it’s a testament to the respect that Briscoe had earned in the wrestling community that so many people would go to such lengths to attend his funeral.

The impact of Briscoe’s passing has also been felt in professional wrestling, with AEW holding a tribute show for him on last week’s episode of Dynamite, which turned out to be a very emotional episode for fans. Despite his untimely passing, Jay Briscoe will forever live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, and fans, and that’s all that truly matters.

The outpouring of support for the Pugh family and the tribute shows held in honor of Briscoe are a testament to the impact that he had on the wrestling community and the fans who loved him. His legacy will live on, and he will always be remembered as one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time.
