However, it’s uncertain whether these actions by the Democratic president will persuade voters who are increasingly concerned about the large number of migrants coming into the country during his presidency.

Biden has moved toward more conservative positions on immigration since his successful campaign four years ago, during which he criticized Trump’s immigration policies and promised to restore protections for asylum seekers.

Sue-Ann DiVito, a 61-year-old realtor from Jenkintown near Philadelphia who became an advocate for immigrants during Trump’s presidency, says Republicans have effectively spread negative messages about immigrants in communities like hers. This has caused concern among some of her Democratic friends about the large number of people entering the U.S.
